Produce Show

Show poster

In 2014 Gawsworth Gardening Club held a very successful Produce Show. The weather for the Show was perfect - a lovely warm, sunny day. This year the Show was held at Cloverbank Organic Farm and included the chance to walk around the gardens.

As in previous years, we could have done with more entries in the classes, but in the end it was well supported. Money was raised from: entry fee for the gardens, tea/coffee and (wonderful!) scones, and class entry fees. Usually the Club suffers financial loss when running the Show, but we are pleased to report that this year the final sum made was £473.66

We are hoping that the Show will encourage and inspire people to enter in coming years, knowing that produce does not have to be absolutely ‘perfect’ to win a prize. It is also a wonderful showcase of what the Gardening Club members can achieve.

The Committee would particularly like to thank everyone in the village and beyond who supported this event, both competitors and neighbours alike, who came along to help them achieve the magnificent sum of money raised.
